Every 4 to 5 weeks, there’s a moment when I find it difficult to fall asleep. Until a while ago, I had no idea why. Then I heard a friend say that she “once again couldn’t fall asleep during the full moon.”
That’s when I started to recognise a pattern in myself. Every full moon night, I just can’t stop tossing and turning. I spoke about it with people around me and, surprisingly, many found this relatable. But what causes this?

Everyone keeps telling you the same thing: “Watch out for blue light!” “The light from your phone is terrible for your sleep!” “If you want to sleep well, you’d better stay away from your phone!” And so on.
In the end, it all comes down to the same message: the blue light from your smartphone has a negative effect on your sleep and, as a result, on how refreshed you feel when you wake up in the morning. But how big is that effect really? -

What does waking up feeling well-rested look like for you
When we asked each other this question during the break, the answers varied widely. Some focused on the physical side waking up without pain while others leaned more towards the mental aspect, such as feeling cheerful and ready to take on the day. The next question then becomes quite obvious: how do you wake up feeling well-rested?
To wake up feeling refreshed, it’s essential to have had a good night’s sleep. But how do you actually achieve that?
