Lambswool Duvet
Lambswool is the same as sheep’s wool or shear wool. Wool is wool! However, lambswool sounds gentler and softer to most people’s ears, which is why it is marketed as ‘superior.’ As a result, lambswool products are also more expensive than shear wool or sheep’s wool products.
Lambswool = Sheep's Wool
Lambswool is not finer, shorter or softer than sheep's wool. A lambs wool duvet also does not ventilate better than a sheep's wool duvet either.
However, there is a clear difference in the quality of wool! After shearing, wool is sorted and assessed for quality. This involves evaluating the fineness of the fibres, the pure lanolin content, the length of the fibres, and their strength. The lanolin content in wool is particularly important. Lanolin prevents wool from drying out and becoming 'prickly' or dusty. With each wash, lanolin is washed out of the wool. You can recognise high-quality wool by its natural sheep smell. A sheep-like scent indicates that the wool has been minimally washed, ensuring its superior quality.
It is widely known that Texel Sheep's Wool is the best quality for filling duvets and pillows. With our Texels Classic and the Texels Classic DeLuxe (featuring a satin cover), you get two exquisite duvets made from the finest quality wool, all at a fair price!
Unique in the world - Recycle with us!
Weids Living & Sleeping is pioneering sustainability in the sleep industry by being the first to implement a circular recycling program for sheep's wool!
When purchasing a wool duvet, you can request a free return label, with which you can return your old wool duvet to us at our expense in the empty box. Your wool duvet is completely recycled in our own recycling department.
The wool is thoroughly washed and, after strict quality control, circularly reused for other products, including beanbags for humans and animals. The duvet covers are disposed of and processed into, among other things, insulation material, cleaning cloths and building materials.
