Sleeping Under a Wool 4-Season Duvet
Sleeping under a wool 4-season duvet is pure luxury. Just ask anyone who’s tried it, once you’ve experienced it, you’ll never want anything else. Wool is a 100% natural fibre, which allows a wool duvet to breathe. That means it retains warmth on cold winter nights (insulation), but also releases excess heat when it gets too warm (ventilation) making it equally perfect for the summer months.

The secret? Wool can absorb up to 35% of its own weight in moisture. As it absorbs moisture, it simultaneously releases heat, creating a balanced sleep climate. This natural temperature regulation ensures you never feel too hot under a wool duvet.

A wool 4-season duvet is also an excellent choice for allergy sufferers. Thanks to the long, curly wool fibres, the duvet offers outstanding ventilation, maintaining a dry sleeping environment which leaves no room for mould or dust mites to thrive.

In addition, lanolin (also known as wool wax), naturally present in the wool, makes the duvet dirt-repellent. And here’s something else worth mentioning: lanolin has been shown to have a positive effect on muscles and joints. No wonder wool duvets and underblankets have long been loved by people with rheumatism.

Caring for a Wool 4-Season Duvet
A wool 4-season duvet never needs to be refilled. Thanks to the purified lanolin naturally present in the wool, the fibres are dirt-repellent. Simply airing the duvet regularly is enough to keep it fresh and in shape. If needed, your wool duvet can also be professionally cleaned at a dry cleaner.

High-quality wool naturally contains a small amount of lanolin (wool wax), which gives the duvet its self-cleaning properties. Lanolin helps repel dirt and keeps the wool in good condition. Regular airing will help maintain its freshness and breathability.

However, be sure not to place your wool duvet in direct sunlight. Sunlight can bleach the outer fabric and dry out the wool. If a stain appears on the cover, try removing it gently with gall soap or mild green soap. If that doesn’t work, you can take the duvet to the dry cleaner, they’ll use a special wool program to clean it safely.

We strongly advise against vacuuming or beating the duvet with a carpet beater, as this can damage the wool structure.

The lifespan of a wool 4-season duvet depends largely on how well it is maintained. With proper care, you can enjoy your duvet for up to 10 years or more. While it may still function well after that, it’s recommended to replace it for hygiene reasons.
