Mattress topper at the best price
A mattress topper, also known as an overlay mattress, top mattress or simply a topper is placed on top of your mattress. A mattress topper can significantly improve sleeping comfort if, for example, your current mattress (which is still in good condition) feels too firm or too soft. A mattress topper is usually around 6 to 7 cm thick.
Mattress topper or underblanket?
To be completely honest, we don’t see a mattress topper as extra comfort or luxury if you already sleep well on your mattress. In that case, we can highly recommend a wool or bamboo underblanket. A mattress topper is also not a replacement for a mattress. If your current mattress needs replacing (for example, due to dips or sagging), then you certainly won’t solve that problem with a mattress topper.

A topper for the right support
Does your current mattress need a mattress topper? This is a very important question to ask yourself. If you already have a good, comfortable mattress, a topper is unnecessary. In that case, it’s better to choose an underblanket. Alongside quality bedding, a good pillow and a comfortable duvet, an underblanket can improve your sleeping comfort without changing how your body is supported. If your mattress needs replacing, a topper is also unnecessary, it won’t solve your problems. A topper is mainly intended for when you feel your current mattress is too soft or too firm for you.
Toppers can be slept on on both sides. Turning and rotating it regularly extends its lifespan. Our toppers are also available in non-standard sizes!
Different mattress toppers
We have a selection of toppers in our range:
- Polyether mattress topper (medium);
- Cold foam topper (firm);
- Memory foam topper (super soft) and
- Latex topper (soft).
Polyether topper
A polyether topper offers medium support. It has good resilience and good point elasticity. The more point-elastic a polyether topper is, the better it can mould to the contours of the body and the more precise the support.
Polyether is a popular topper mainly because of its price. The average lifespan of a polyether mattress topper is around 7–10 years. For hygiene reasons in particular, we recommend replacing this product within that timeframe.
Cold foam topper
A cold foam topper adds extra comfort by bringing a bit more firmness/support to your mattress. Cold foam is recognisable by its excellent elasticity. The cell structure of this topper is open and, combined with profiling, provides excellent airflow and ventilation.
A cold foam topper has a different cell structure to polyether, giving it better moisture resistance and better air circulation. Thanks to its higher density, the load-bearing and springiness (adaptability) of a cold foam topper is also better than that of a polyether topper.
Memory foam mattress topper
Memory foam is a temperature-sensitive material that adapts to body heat. Under the influence of body weight and warmth, a memory foam topper becomes softer and moulds to the body. This distributes body pressure evenly across the entire sleeping surface. With a memory foam topper, you experience fewer pressure points, allowing your muscles to relax more effectively and improving circulation. Good pressure distribution supports a better night’s sleep.
Latex topper
A latex topper has a core of natural rubber. Natural rubber has extremely high elasticity and an open-cell structure, which guarantees optimal moisture regulation. That elasticity allows for excellent support and pressure reduction. Latex has a linearly increasing load-bearing capacity, which means minimal counterpressure on the skin, muscles and bones. In addition, the latex mattress topper has 3 zones, providing extra support for the pelvic zone (50% of body weight) and the shoulders. A latex topper is recommended for people with a body weight from around 75 kg).

Frequently asked questions
How long does a topper last?
A topper, like a good mattress, lasts around 10–12 years.
Which topper should I buy?
Choosing a topper is very personal. If price is the deciding factor, a polyether topper is the best choice. When comfort comes first, our experience is that customers usually choose a latex topper or a memory foam topper.
Which mattress topper is best for back pain?
That depends. A memory foam topper adapts best to the contours of your body and will usually provide the best support for back pain. However, if you are heavier than average, you may benefit more from a latex topper, as it provides more stable support.
What are the best mattress toppers?
We sell only toppers of the best quality. This applies just as much to our polyether mattress toppers as it does to the more expensive memory foam toppers.
How do you prevent your topper from shifting?
Because of the thickness and weight of the topper, it won’t shift, especially if you use a good fitted sheet, such as our multiform fitted sheet from Bonnanotte.
When should I replace a mattress topper?
If you notice dips along the side (where you sit when getting in and out of bed) or in the middle of the topper, then it clearly needs replacing.
