Down 4 Seasons Duvet
If you are looking for a duvet that suits both the warm summer months and the cold winter nights, a down 4 seasons duvet is highly recommended. An all seasons duvet consists of 2 separate parts: a summer section (warmth class 4) and a spring/autumn section (warmth class 3). Combined, these form a wonderfully warm winter duvet (warmth class 1).
Which down 4 seasons duvet suits me best?
The general rule is that the higher the down content of a down 4 seasons duvet (for example 90% down + 10% feathers), the lighter, more supple and more comfortable the duvet will be. Fill power is an important indicator of the quality of down. Another key factor is the fill weight of the down 4 seasons duvet. However, these indicators are not especially useful when viewed separately.
You will understand that simply stating the fill power is not enough, because the insulation value also depends on the fill weight. What matters more to you is whether the down duvet is warm enough, but not too warm. That is ultimately what determines sleeping comfort. This is exactly why a down duvet is such a great solution. Because the two duvet sections are filled differently, you can sleep comfortably all year round.

Recycle with us!
When purchasing a down duvet, you can request a free return label, allowing you to send your old down duvet back to us in the empty box at our expense.
We have our down duvets recycled by our manufacturer, Ducky Dons. The entire duvet is recycled: high-quality down and feathers can be reused after thorough washing and strict quality control. The down and feathers that do not pass the quality inspection are processed into organic fertilisers. The outer covers are also recycled and turned into products such as insulation materials, cleaning cloths and building materials.

Down 4-Season Duvet
Down is the soft, fluffy underlayer that birds use to protect themselves against the cold. It consists of thousands of tiny fibres with insulating properties. A down 4-season duvet keeps you wonderfully warm in the winter while staying pleasantly cool in the summer.
If you naturally sweat a lot, a down 4-season duvet is an excellent choice for you. The still air trapped between the down clusters absorbs moisture quickly, and just as easily releases it back into the air.
If you do sweat a lot, a down duvet can become flatter more quickly. That’s why it’s important to air it out more often; fluffing it by hand is also recommended.
Goose Down or Duck Down 4-Season Duvet?
In general, a duck down 4-season duvet is more affordable than a goose down 4-season duvet. It’s a common misconception that goose down is always superior to duck down. While it’s true that a goose down duvet typically offers slightly better insulation, this is due to the fact that goose down clusters tend to be larger than those from ducks.
As a result, the fill power and loft of a goose down duvet are usually higher than those of a duck down duvet. This combination of factors makes goose down 4-season duvets somewhat more popular, but not necessarily better for everyone.
Care and Maintenance of a Down 4-Season Duvet
A down 4-season duvet can usually be washed at up to 40 degrees, provided it can also be dried using circulating air (tumble dryer). This allows the down to regain its loft and volume. Always follow the washing instructions on the care label!
If your down duvet starts to feel a bit flat, refresh it in the tumble dryer ideally on a "cool" or "air" setting. Adding a tennis ball to the dryer will help fluff it back up.
Over time, a down duvet may lose some of its volume. These duvets are easy to shake up to restore their loft. It's best to do this from left to right, as this keeps the down evenly distributed in its compartments. Shaking it from top to bottom may cause the down to shift into the wrong sections, affecting the overall distribution.
The lifespan of a down 4-season duvet largely depends on how well it is maintained. With proper care, a high-quality down duvet can last around 10 years. While it may still perform well after that, it is generally recommended to replace it for hygiene reasons.
