Wool Winter Duvet
A wool winter duvet is a wonderfully warm duvet and is especially suitable for people who enjoy a cozy warm bed and/or for those who sleep in an unheated or poorly insulated bedroom. A winter duvet guarantees you a warm and comfortable sleep during cold winter nights!
The great thing about a winter wool duvet is that the wool retains heat very well. This means that if you have to get out of bed at night, you can return to an equally warm and cozy bed afterward. Another great feature of a winter duvet is that it provides a real sense of being "tucked in." And it’s precisely that feeling that many people find gives a wonderfully warm and cozy sensation.
Maintenance
A wool duvet never needs to be refilled. Moreover, the wool in a duvet is dirt-repellent due to the purified lanolin. Regular airing is therefore enough to keep your duvet fresh and in good shape.
The wool in a high-quality duvet has "self-cleaning" properties. This is partly because a small percentage of the wool fat (lanolin) remains in the wool. Lanolin is dirt-repellent. To keep this type of duvet in good condition, regularly airing it out is sufficient.
Please note that you should not place the duvet in direct sunlight. The sun bleaches the cover and dries the wool out strongly. Should a stain unexpectedly appear on the cover, you can first try to remove the stain with a little ox gall soap or green soap. If this does not work, you can take your wool duvet to the dry cleaner's. There, your duvet will be cleaned on the special wool programme. We strongly advise against hitting a wool duvet with a carpet beater or vacuuming it.
The lifespan of a wool duvet is also largely determined by its care. With normal care, you will enjoy this type of good quality duvet for about 10 years. Although your wool duvet may still be perfectly adequate after that, it should actually be replaced for hygienic reasons.
Unique in the world - Recycle with us!
Weids Living & Sleeping is pioneering sustainability in the sleep industry by being the first to implement a circular recycling program for sheep's wool!
When purchasing a wool duvet, you can request a free returns label, with which you can return your old wool duvet to us at our expense in the empty box. In our own recycling department, your wool duvet is fully recycled.
The wool is thoroughly washed and, after a strict quality control, is circularly reused for other products, including beanbags for humans and animals. The duvet covers are disposed of and processed into, among other things, insulation material, cleaning cloths and building materials.
