Wool Summer Duvet
Experience the Breathability of Wool!
A wool-filled summer duvet offers exceptional breathability, effectively retaining warmth during colder nights while absorbing up to 35% of its own weight in moisture. This moisture absorption releases heat, maintaining a balanced thermal insulation. Consequently, sleeping under a wool summer duvet ensures you are neither too warm nor too cold.
Care of a Wool-Filled Summer Duvet
A wool summer duvet never needs refilling. The wool of a good quality wool summer duvet has 'self-cleaning' properties. This is partly because a small percentage of the wool fat (lanolin) remains in the wool. Lanolin is dirt repellent. To keep the summer duvet in good condition, it is sufficient to air the summer duvet regularly.
Please note that you should not place the summer duvet in direct sunlight. The sun bleaches the cover and dries out the wool strongly. If, unexpectedly, a stain appears on the cover, you can first try to remove the stain with a little gall soap or green soap. If this is not successful, you can take your wool summer duvet to the dry cleaner's. There, your wool summer duvet will be cleaned on the special wool programme. We strongly advise against hitting a wool summer duvet with a carpet beater or vacuuming it.
Lifespan
The lifespan of a wool duvet is also largely determined by its maintenance. With proper care, a high-quality wool summer duvet can last approximately 10 years. While it may still function well beyond this period, hygienic considerations suggest replacement after this time.
Unique in the World - Recycle with Us!
Weids Living & Sleeping is pioneering sustainability in the sleep industry by being the first to implement a circular recycling program for sheep's wool!
When purchasing a wool duvet, you can request a free returns label, with which you can send your old wool duvets back to us at our expense in the empty box. In our own recycling department, your wool duvet is fully recycled.
The wool undergoes thorough cleaning and stringent quality checks before being repurposed into new products, such as beanbags for both people and pets. The duvet covers are recycled into materials like insulation, cleaning cloths, and building supplies.
This initiative underscores our commitment to environmental responsibility and innovation in sustainable practices.
