Children's Duvet
Sleep is more important for no one than for the youngest generation. A good, uninterrupted night’s sleep is immediately noticeable in a child, and it benefits you too. During the day, your child is happier and has (even) more energy to develop. And when your child sleeps well at night, it also supports your own rest. A good children’s duvet plays an important role in this.
A toddler duvet measures 100 x 135 cm. A preschool duvet measures 120 x 150 cm. Of course, all of our children’s duvets are hypoallergenic and easy to wash (with the exception of wool).
Matching duvet covers are also available for a children’s duvet (toddler or preschool). Our children’s duvets come in different options. A 4-season version consists of two separate parts, while a summer duvet or an all-year duvet is a single duvet. With a 4-season children’s duvet, you always have the right duvet for every season at home.

Children’s duvet: which size should you choose for your child’s bed?
Children’s beds come in various sizes, and the same applies to a duvet for a child. Once your child is big enough to no longer sleep in a cradle or cot, it’s time for a proper ‘big bed’. That can feel quite exciting, sometimes it takes a few nights before your little one gets used to their new bed. It often helps to choose a lovely soft children’s duvet with a fun duvet cover and a matching pillowcase. It is also important to choose the right size, so your child can sleep comfortably.

A children’s duvet for a toddler bed
For a toddler bed, choose a children’s duvet in size 100 x 135 cm. This is large enough to sleep comfortably underneath. For this duvet size, you can order a range of bedding sets. Choose a theme that matches the whole bedroom, or something your little one absolutely loves.
Children’s duvets for preschool beds
A children’s bed, the final step before a ‘real’ big bed calls for a duvet that is just a little larger than the toddler size. For this, Weids Living & Sleeping offers children’s duvets in 120 x 150 cm. You can choose from cosy children’s duvets for winter or a cooler children’s duvet for summer. Different duvet cover sets are also available for this size.
Children’s duvet: sleep comfortably
Once your child has outgrown the cradle, it’s time for their own bed. Or perhaps you skip the cradle stage altogether. A children’s duvet must be safe, and of course your child should sleep comfortably under it. That is why, at Weids Living & Sleeping, you will find children’s duvets in a range of materials. For summer, choose airy cotton, wool or bamboo, nice and cool, so your little one can sleep well even when the temperature on summer nights drops only slowly. A good duvet combined with soft, high-quality bedding helps your child sleep soundly. We are happy to help you make the right choice.

A warm bed for cold winters
In winter, the bed should be nice and warm, and of course this also applies to your child’s bed. For winter, choose a wool children’s duvet. In addition to a children’s duvet designed for a specific season, you can also choose an all-season children’s duvet. These are available in wool, bamboo and cotton and provide a peaceful night’s sleep all year round. When ordering a children’s duvet, make sure you choose the correct size.

Children’s duvets
Children’s duvets are available in many materials. For children, washable materials are often chosen, as the duvet can be cleaned quickly in case of an accident. A wool children’s duvet is also a wonderful choice, but it is not machine-washable (as that would reduce the quality of the wool). However, it can be professionally cleaned at a dry cleaner.
Other materials that are very suitable for children’s duvets are bamboo or cotton. Cotton is known as a 100% natural product. It can be washed at high temperatures, is tumble-dryer safe, is hypoallergenic and therefore ideal for a child’s bedroom. Bamboo is also easy to wash, hypoallergenic, and has the major advantage of excellent moisture regulation. It absorbs perspiration well, so children do not wake up feeling clammy, making sleeping through the night much more likely, even in summer. A bamboo children’s duvet is also a bit lighter than cotton.
Frequently asked questions about a children’s duvet
When should you use a children’s duvet?
When you notice that your child no longer sleeps well under a blanket, or gets too cold in winter, we advise switching to a children’s duvet. For older children, choosing a nice duvet cover themselves is often another reason to make the switch. Duvet covers come in many styles and sizes. We recommend using natural materials only, as this helps reduce perspiration and prevents your child from sleeping clammy, and therefore restlessly, throughout the night.
Children’s duvet: from what age?
Your child can sleep under a duvet from around the age of 2, once they can turn over independently under the duvet. It is important to consider the size of the children’s duvet: if the duvet is too large for the bed, it can become (too) warm. For the same reason, we also advise using natural materials for the bedding.
How often should you wash a children’s duvet?
Many parents choose a synthetic duvet for children because it is easy to wash in case of an accident. Fortunately, there are many natural children’s duvets that are also washable, for example Tencel, cotton and bamboo. These duvets can be washed without reducing the quality of the bedding or compromising sleeping comfort.
