Van Friese schapenwol naar een nieuwe, circulaire toekomst

Weids Wonen & Slapen zet zich al jaren in voor het gebruik en hergebruik van natuurlijke materialen. Vanuit die overtuiging ontstond het idee om iets te doen met een grondstof die in Nederland lange tijd nauwelijks waarde kreeg: schapenwol.

Samen met lokale partners is daarom Wol Fabryk Fryslân ontstaan. Een innovatief en lokaal initiatief waarin Friese schapenwol wordt verzameld, gewassen, verwerkt en opnieuw ingezet in hoogwaardige producten.

Het doel is duidelijk: wol weer waarde geven en een lokale, circulaire wolketen opbouwen.

Imagine this: you’ve had a busy day and by the afternoon you’re really in need of a power nap. Just a quick recharge before tackling the rest of your to-do list. You close your eyes for 20 minutes… but it quickly turns into 2 hours. Before you know it, you’ve fallen into a deep sleep and wake up feeling completely disoriented. As a result, you often feel even more tired than before, and even less gets done from your to-do list.

I always hear my colleague talking about how wonderfully she sleeps on her wool underblanket. At first, I didn’t quite understand why. Of course, an underblanket is comfortable to sleep on but isn’t it just like a topper? That’s when I was quickly corrected! Because there are definitely differences. But what makes a good underblanket? And what exactly is the difference between an underblanket and a topper?

A question we get asked very often: can I wash my duvet? And if so, how should I do it?

Whether a duvet can be washed naturally depends on the type. Some duvets are very suitable for washing, while for others we do not recommend it. Always follow the care instructions on the label. To make things clearer, we’ve provided specific advice for each type of duvet!
