Mattress protector
A mattress protector protects your mattress against moisture, dirt and wear. Mattress protectors extend the lifespan of the mattress and, because they are easy to wash, you can enjoy them for years. Naturally, you want to enjoy a good mattress for as long as possible.
Perspiration moisture during the night is bad for your mattress. Without a mattress protector, your mattress is exposed to it, which can quickly lead to dirt and moisture stains appearing on the mattress and bacteria building up. In addition, without using a mattress protector, your mattress will show signs of wear more quickly. Weids Living and Sleeping offers various mattress protectors for both the underside and the top side of your mattress. With multiple types of mattress protectors across different price ranges, you’ll always find a protector that suits your needs. A molton or a molton fitted sheet can also protect your mattress.

Types of mattress protectors
There are two types available. For example, there is the molton mattress protector (also available in an organic version), the waterproof molton mattress protector and there are also mattress underlays made from felt or with latex studs. Both have a different function and therefore a different reason to use them. If you perspire a lot or experience incontinence, a waterproof mattress protector is the perfect solution to protect your mattress.
In that case, we can also highly recommend the Tencel fitted sheet. Do you have a slatted base and is it damaging your mattress? Then consider using a felt mattress underlay. If your mattress shifts a lot, a latex-stud mattress protector is recommended, as it keeps your mattress perfectly in place. Together with quality bedding, a wonderful pillow and a comfortable duvet, the items above support a good night’s sleep and help create an optimal sleep experience.
Waterproof mattress protector
We offer waterproof mattress protectors in two variants: Tencel or molton. They fit over the mattress, just like a fitted sheet. So you place the protector directly over the mattress. On top of that, you can add a sheet. A Tencel mattress protector feels like a satin fitted sheet and also has the advantage of being anti-allergenic and dust-mite free.

The advantage of waterproof protection Molton or Tencel offers practical, hygienic protection. It protects your mattress from moisture, and a waterproof molton also provides a heat-insulating effect.
With a waterproof mattress protector, you no longer need to worry about unexpected accidents. A waterproof mattress protector is also easy to wash. A protector over the mattress is extremely suitable for babies and toddlers, but also for older people who experience incontinence. These products can be washed easily in the washing machine.
Mattress underlay
The mattress underlays are available in two different versions: jute felt and with latex studs. You place a mattress underlay between the bed base and your mattress. This underlay helps prevent your mattress from shifting, significantly reducing the risk of damage.
Anti-slip mattress underlay
Our anti-slip mattress underlays are fitted with countless latex studs. Thanks to the excellent grip, your mattress is guaranteed to stay in the right place. This type of mattress underlay is particularly recommended if you have an adjustable bed base or if you are a restless sleeper. In that case, your mattress can shift due to movement, which can cause damage. Aside from that, it’s very annoying having to slide the mattress back into place every morning. An anti-slip mattress underlay prevents these shifts and also helps your mattress wear less quickly. In addition, it helps prevent moisture issues caused by insufficient breathability. Our anti-slip mattress underlays are hard-wearing, dust-free, breathable, flexible and supple, and offer high heat insulation.

Mattress protector for babies and toddlers
A mattress protector for a baby or toddler bed is a good investment. Accidents are easily absorbed and the mattress stays completely clean. Our molton products for babies and toddlers are moisture-absorbing, breathable, washable, quick-drying and anti-bacterial. This means your little one is optimally protected against pollen, dust, dust-mite allergies and mould spores. Our baby/toddler protectors are suitable for a crib, cot or junior bed.

In addition to the size, the height of the mattress also plays a role when choosing the best mattress protector. To determine the exact size, measure your mattress length and width. Measuring helps you identify which size you need, so you can search specifically in our shop for the right dimensions. Frequently asked questions
What is a mattress protector?
Moisture, dirt and wear are disastrous for a mattress and can significantly shorten its lifespan. A mattress protector helps protect your mattress from these influences. Mattress protectors can be placed over or under the mattress for maximum protection against bacteria, wear and moisture. During the night, damp patches can form on the mattress due to perspiration, for example. Wear can also occur on the underside of your mattress due to it shifting. A mattress protector protects the mattress against these forms of wear, moisture and dirt.
How do you wash a mattress protector?
A mattress protector is easy to wash in the washing machine. By washing your mattress protector regularly, bacteria and dust are removed. A nice extra benefit is, of course, a clean and hygienic mattress, which supports a good night’s sleep. With every mattress protector from Weids Living and Sleeping, you’ll find clear washing instructions (these vary by protector). You’ll also find information on whether the product is suitable for the tumble dryer. Make sure the mattress protector is fully dry after washing before placing it back on the mattress.
How do you place a mattress protector?
A mattress protector can be placed on the top and bottom of the mattress. If you place the bed protector on the underside, it’s important that it provides good protection against wear to the mattress. So place the mattress protector over the part of the slatted base where the mattress comes into direct contact with it. It doesn’t have to be the exact same size — a bit of extra margin on all sides is absolutely fine. On the top of the mattress, place the mattress protector over the corners of the mattress, so your entire mattress is protected against moisture, dirt and wear.
