Wool Summer Duvet
A wool summer duvet breathes, meaning that it retains heat well during the night and can absorb 35% of its own weight in moisture. When the wool absorbs moisture, it simultaneously releases heat. This achieves a balanced heat insulation and you will never sleep too hot or too cold under a wool summer duvet.
A wool summer duvet never needs refilling. The wool of a good quality wool summer duvet has 'self-cleaning' properties. This is partly because a small percentage of the wool grease (lanolin) remains in the wool. Lanolin is dirt repellent. To keep the summer duvet in good condition, regularly airing the summer duvet is sufficient.
Please note that you should not place the summer duvet in direct sunlight. The sun bleaches the cover and dries the wool out strongly. If, unexpectedly, a stain gets on the cover, you can first try to remove the stain with a little ox gall soap or green soap. If this does not work, you can take your wool summer duvet to the dry cleaners. There, your wool summer duvet will be cleaned on the special wool programme. We strongly advise against hitting a wool summer duvet with a carpet beater or vacuuming it.
