What is Cashmere wool?

Cashmere or Kashmir is a type of wool that comes from the Cashmere goat. It is the most noble type of hair. The Cashmere goat lives at high altitudes where the temperature is very hot during the day and freezing at night. The fine hairs of the Cashmere goat protect the animal from these extreme temperature fluctuations. Cashmere wool is a fine and very soft and supple fiber. The highest quality Cashmere comes from the neck and chin of the goat.

What is Merino wool?

The Merino sheep is one of the best-known sheep breeds in the world. This makes Merino wool not only readily available but also incredibly sustainable and renewable! Merino wool also has the properties of being extremely soft and providing excellent temperature regulation.

Regular sheep's wool can be a bit itchy. With Merino lamb wool, you won't experience that at all. Merino wool has a much denser texture than normal sheep's wool, making it significantly less itchy and feel softer. The fibers of Merino lamb wool are also lighter than sheep's wool, making this plaid feel incredibly soft. Ideal for people with sensitive skin. There is no softer fiber!

Care of a wool blanket/plaid

A wool plaid or blanket requires little maintenance. Wool is naturally dirt-repellent, so this wool plaid does not get dirty easily. To freshen up the wool plaid, it is best to air it outside occasionally; it will then be wonderfully fresh again. If necessary, you can very gently clean small stains with green soap. For a complete cleaning of the blanket, we recommend having the plaid dry-cleaned.
