Hefel Organic Wool Duvet

This wonderfully warm organic wool duvet from Hefel is a winter duvet (warmth class 1) and is the ideal duvet if you are a cold sleeper and/or your bedroom temperature fluctuates around 15°C year-round. The wool filling of this winter duvet is layered in 2 layers and has a combined filling weight of 465 grams per square meter. Because both halves are only stitched together at the edges, warm air can be trapped in the space between the layers. This buffer of warm air makes the Hefel winter duvet significantly warmer than the all-year version.

Merino Wool

The duvet is filled with sheep's wool of a quality similar to Merino. Merino wool comes from the Merino sheep. The Merino sheep is one of the best-known sheep breeds in the world and is generally praised for the quality of its wool. Thanks to its many skin folds, one sheep produces up to five kilograms of wool per year. Merino wool excels not only in high wool production but also in the exceptional quality of the wool.

Merino wool is a 100% natural fiber with a strong crimp (curl). This crimp makes a duvet filled with Merino wool airier and gives it a higher insulating and ventilating value than a pure wool duvet.

For this wonderfully warm winter duvet, we always recommend the 220 cm length. This gives you extra length, so you can pull the duvet well over your shoulders. All quality duvet covers are at least 220 cm long, so this duvet will fit perfectly.

Anti-Allergic

Mold formation in a wool duvet is virtually impossible. Molds require not only warmth but also a high humidity level. Because wool is very breathable and regulates its own temperature, molds cannot nest in it.

Anti-Dust Mite

Because wool contains lanolin, it is self-cleaning, antibacterial, and dirt-repellent. Pure virgin wool in a bed or mattress is also an unfavorable environment for dust mites, as wool ventilates optimally and regulates temperature and moisture levels. If you ensure that your duvet/bed is aired regularly, dust mites will not stand a chance.

Organic Sateen Cotton Cover - GOTS Certified!

Hefel introduced the first organic cotton cover back in 1996. This sateen cover is exceptionally fine and feels super soft. The organic cotton has never been in contact with pesticides or other harmful chemicals, making it clean, safe, and skin-friendly. It meets the strict requirements of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).
