Everyone keeps telling you the same thing: “Watch out for blue light!” “The light from your phone is terrible for your sleep!” “If you want to sleep well, you’d better stay away from your phone!” And so on.
In the end, it all comes down to the same message: the blue light from your smartphone has a negative effect on your sleep and, as a result, on how refreshed you feel when you wake up in the morning. But how big is that effect really? -

I don’t know how it works for you, but if I get less than 8 hours of sleep, I already feel like I’m starting the day at a slight disadvantage. But to be honest, I still manage to get just as much done, and by the end of the day, I look back on it as a good day just as often as not.
So, is getting 8 hours of sleep really as essential as we all think?
