You’re tucked into bed, perfectly comfortable under your duvet.
You and your partner are ready to drift off, but then… the other person turns over. A gust of cold air sweeps across your back. You crawl back under the covers, pull the duvet up tight, and promptly expose your toes to the cold. Toes that certainly aren't "happy" anymore because they are freezing.
Having a duvet that is too short is a real nightmare. One tug to the side and the whole thing slides off the bed. But none of this is necessary. You spend an average of one-third of your life in bed; that time should be spent in total comfort. Which duvet size best fits your bed? And which duvet cover goes with it? We’ve created a handy overview just for you!

Which length should I choose?
When it comes to the length of your duvet, the choices are straightforward. You generally have two options: a standard length or an extra-long 200x220 cm. Having a little extra duvet length is always a win. Most of it gets tucked under the mattress when you make the bed anyway. Especially during colder periods, it’s wonderful to have that extra duvet length to snuggle into. If you’re undecided and your budget allows, we always advise going for those extra 20 cm. It’s not an unnecessary luxury, and for most duvets, the price difference is very manageable.
Which width should I choose?
To choose the right duvet, first look at the size of your mattress. This will determine which width is the best fit. Combine this with your chosen length, and you have the perfect duvet size! If your mattress is on the older side, keep that in mind perhaps you’ll want to upgrade to a wider size when you eventually replace it...
The right size duvet cover: 200x200 cm or 220x220 cm?
All of our duvet covers are compatible with both standard and extra-long duvets (200 cm and 220 cm). With an extra-long tuck-in flap, you can make the bed beautifully and prevent your toes from being exposed in the middle of the night. Much better!
When should I choose a 240x220 cm duvet?
If your bed is 1.60 meters wide or larger, we recommend a King Size (Lits Jumeaux) duvet. This is a duvet measuring 240x220 cm. With these dimensions, the duvet hangs neatly and elegantly over both sides of the bed. When you’re underneath it, both you and your partner will have plenty of duvet to stay comfortably warm and covered, even when you both roll onto your sides.

Children's Duvet: 120x150 cm
A children's duvet generally comes in two sizes. A toddler duvet measures 100 x 135 cm. A preschooler duvet measures 120 x 150 cm. The smaller size is perfect when your toddler graduates to a duvet while still in a cot. When your preschooler is ready for a new duvet, they are often in a junior bed or a transition bed. In that case, a 120 x 150 cm size is appropriate. This allows your child to snuggle deep under the covers and sleep warmly and securely.
Single Duvet: 140x200 cm
A single duvet seems simple enough usually 140 x 200 cm. That’s correct, but single duvets are sometimes used for "small doubles" as well. In that case, we suggest doing yourself a favor and choosing a 200 x 200 cm duvet instead. It offers a much more comfortable sleep.
Also, if you and your partner have completely different warmth preferences for example, he prefers just a sheet while you’re longing for a winter duvet using two single duvets can be the perfect solution! It might not be the most "traditional" choice for romance, but it ensures you both sleep under a duvet with the right temperature for you, which is what truly matters! And trust us, romance isn't stopped by two single duvets we bet on it!
