With the Texels Classic wool all-year duvet, you are purchasing a duvet that you are guaranteed to enjoy for years! The filling weight of this wool all-year duvet is approximately 400 grams/m². The Texels Classic all-year duvet (warmth class 3) is most suitable for bedrooms with an average temperature around 15 to 20 °C. For warmer bedrooms, we recommend the wonderfully light and airy Texels Classic summer duvet (warmth class 4) or the even thinner high summer duvet.

100% Pure New Wool

The wool all-year duvet is filled with the best quality new wool, sourced from lambs and sheep from Texel and Northern France, among other places. The excellent quality of Texel new wool is attributed to the Texel sheep's living environment. Due to the harsh sea climate, Texel sheep endure more, giving their wool better resilience and higher insulating and ventilating capacity.

The Texel new wool in the Texels Classic wool all-year duvet is carefully carded, aligning all fibers in one direction. This carded wool is then stitched as a continuous layer in a lengthwise direction with a double chain stitch between a 100% natural percal cotton ticking. This stitching method ensures the wool has ample space to 'open up,' allowing optimal ventilation and preventing overheating. Furthermore, it gives the Texels Classic wool duvet a wonderfully airy feel, making the Texels Classic unique compared to other wool duvets.

A Wonderfully Soft and Supple Duvet

The ticking (cover) of this beautiful duvet is made from 100% percal cotton, BSCI certified! A wonderfully soft fabric that ensures this duvet drapes beautifully and softly around you. Naturally, this ticking is wool-dense, preventing any irritating wool fibers from poking through.

These press studs are, of course, located on the side of the duvet so you never feel them. You can now easily purchase just the all-year duvet and later decide to also buy the Texels Classic high summer duvet if you still feel cold. Combining both duvets creates a wonderfully warm wool winter duvet (warmth class 1+).

The Texels Classic Multi-Choice collection consists of three other duvets, each available separately.

Our Texel new wool has a beautiful fine crimp and a high lanolin (wool fat) content. The quality of the crimp ensures good insulation and ventilation. Mold formation in our wool duvets is therefore virtually impossible. Molds require not only warmth but also high humidity. Because our wool ventilates excellently and regulates its own temperature, it creates a wonderfully cool and dry climate. Pure new wool is therefore not a favorable environment for house mites.

Lanolin ensures that the wool is self-cleaning, antibacterial, and dirt-repellent. Equally important, lanolin prevents the wool from becoming dry and 'prickly.' Due to the natural resilience of Texel new wool, the duvet always maintains its shape. Breaking or crushing of the wool is excluded.

Naturally, this beautiful wool duvet is equipped with the Woolmark. With the Woolmark, you are assured that this duvet is filled with 100% pure new wool. The ticking (cover) of this duvet features the Oeko-Tex and BSCI certifications. Oeko-Tex guarantees that the tested and certified textiles are free from harmful substances that pose a risk to human health.

The ticking also features the FSC and BSCI certifications. The international, independent FSC (Forest Stewardship Council®) mark assures that raw materials for wood and paper products come from responsibly managed forests. BSCI offers companies a code of conduct, supporting them in their efforts to establish an ethical supply chain. This code of conduct is based on international conventions protecting workers' rights.

This includes the following key principles: socially responsible policy, freedom of association, working hours and overtime, non-discrimination, prohibition of child labor and forced labor, special protection for young workers, payment of a minimum wage, provision of a safe and healthy workplace, environmental protection, and no precarious employment.

Thanks to the quality of the wool, we do not need to use a synthetic non-woven fleece. The softness and suppleness of the fabric ultimately determine your sleeping comfort. We can therefore assure you that our duvet is genuinely made from 100% natural materials.

Price hunters often opt for lower-quality wool (or in the worst case, even belly wool from the sheep). To prevent the 'poor' wool from poking through the ticking, they use a cheap (thick and stiff) ticking and/or a synthetic fleece. By using a synthetic fleece, they cut costs on the filling and ticking and accept that you will not be sleeping under a 100% pure natural duvet.
