Which Type of Duvet?
If the temperature of your bedroom fluctuates slightly throughout the year or if you can control the temperature well (open window or heating on), the Tencel All Year duvet is a good choice. For a warm bedroom and/or a warm sleeper, the Tencel Summer duvet is highly recommended. If you are unsure about which type of duvet is best for you, we recommend the Tencel 4 Seasons duvet. The Tencel 4 Seasons duvet consists of 2 duvet parts. This guarantees you a good night's sleep all year round!
You can easily wash the Tencel duvet yourself at home. The duvet can be machine washed up to 40°C. This ensures you always sleep fresh and hygienically clean.
Our Tencel duvets and pillows feature the Oeko-Tex label, an organization originally from Germany that has a strict policy against harmful substances in textiles. Oeko-tex was founded in 1992 to combat the use of harmful chemicals in textiles and clothing. Products produced according to the Oeko Tex standard are also strictly controlled.
Sustainable Packaging
The Tencel Exclusive duvet is rolled up (by rolling, we make the duvet as compact as possible) and sent in a packaging bag made from 100% recycled plastic. This bag was specially developed for us, eliminating the need for a shipping box. This saves thousands of kilograms of cardboard annually.
Tencel
Tencel is as soft as silk, as strong as polyester, as easy to care for as acrylic, as cool and pleasant as linen, as warm as wool, and absorbs moisture much better than cotton. Simply a breakthrough in fibers! The new generation, with a bright future.
TENCEL® is a 100% natural material and is fully biodegradable. The raw material for this material is wood, sourced from sustainably managed forests. It has received the European quality mark PEFC and the international mark FSC. TENCEL® has received numerous awards for its environmentally friendly production process.
TENCEL® is highly functional. Excellent moisture permeability is one of the basic properties of this material. After extensive research, it has become clear that 85% of people with sensitive skin prefer TENCEL® over other materials. Bacteria do not stand a chance in Tencel material, and dust mites disappear within 6 weeks. No chemicals are used in Tencel material, an important factor for sensitive skin. Tencel can first absorb moisture and then distribute it over the surface, keeping your sleeping environment pleasantly dry at all times.
Tencel, the Secret?
Tencel is the first cellulose fiber that derives its enormous strength from nanotechnology. As a result of the concentrated and regular structure of the non-fibers, new functional properties can be added to Tencel. These guarantee excellent moisture absorption combined with optimal moisture management. During sleep, our body releases at least 0.4 liters of perspiration, but Tencel's exceptionally good moisture absorption ensures that your bedding remains pleasantly dry, thus promoting restful sleep. To clarify, TENCEL® absorbs over 50% more moisture than cotton. This is in contrast to polyester, which absorbs no moisture at all.
Lyocell (Tencel) is an artificial fiber of natural origin. The raw material for this fiber is wood pulp, similar to viscose rayon, and it is also spun using the wet spinning process. The key difference lies in the dissolution of the wood fibers. The process for viscose rayon is not environmentally friendly. Sodium hydroxide, carbon disulfide, and sulfuric acid are used, producing harmful by-products. Carbon disulfide is harmful to health and highly flammable.
These disadvantages have been overcome in lyocell by using a new solvent (N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide) and by modifying the process to create a closed loop system where the solvent is recovered. The properties of the fiber generally correspond to those of viscose, but its strength in a wet state is better, and the fiber wrinkles less. Lyocell is marketed under the brand name Tencel by the Austrian company Lenzing.
