The Savanne Tencel Exclusive wool pillow is arguably the pinnacle of our wool pillows. A wonderfully full, resilient, and extremely shapeable pillow. The Tencel Exclusive pillow is filled with 100% pure sheep wool and features a luxurious double-stitched 100% Tencel cover.
The Tencel Exclusive ticking, cover
This fine pillow features a double-stitched 100% Tencel cover, which is also filled with 100% Tencel. An important property of Tencel is that perspiration is not noticeable due to the high moisture absorption of the Tencel fiber. The Tencel woven double ticking can absorb up to 150% more moisture than a cotton ticking! Another important property of the Tencel pillow is that the Tencel fabric is breathable. This prevents stuffy heat from building up. The Tencel pillow therefore never gets warmer than 28°C. This creates a wonderful sleeping climate.
So, if you sweat excessively or simply want the best of the best, we can highly recommend the Tencel Exclusive pillow.
Sleeping on a Tencel pillow is highly recommended for people with allergies to dust mites or asthma. Moisture is absorbed so well into the fiber that bacteria do not thrive in Tencel, which is why Tencel is hypoallergenic (= anti-allergic). People with sensitive skin also find Tencel a breath of fresh air, as it is light, soft, and supple, and does not irritate the skin.
100% pure sheep wool filling
The Tencel Exclusive wool pillow is firmly filled with 100% pure sheep wool. Our Texel shear wool naturally has a beautiful fine crimp (curl) and a high lanolin (= wool fat) content. Good quality wool (= high lanolin content) can be recognized by its smell. Sheep wool should smell like... well, sheep!
Which filling? Wool balls or VulWol
You have the choice between wool pillows filled with wool balls and VulWol. Both fillings have their own specific properties:
Wool balls - The secret of the wool balls is their resilience. Our Texel shear wool naturally has a beautiful fine crimp (curl). Twisted into wool balls, this provides firm and resilient support. Perfect if you are looking for a nice full and firm pillow. This pillow is particularly suitable for side sleepers.
VulWol - This unique VulWol, available nowhere else, has the special property of being exceptionally moldable. Every evening before going to sleep, you can shape the pillow to your desired height and form with your shoulder. This way, you enjoy perfect support every night. At the same time, this is also good mental preparation for your body and mind, signaling that it's time to sleep -:) This pillow is the right choice for every type of sleeper.
Sleep advice: At the same time, this is also good mental preparation for your body and mind, signaling that it's time to sleep -:)
Anti-Allergenic and Dust Mite Free
The quality of the crimp guarantees excellent insulation and ventilation. Mold formation in our wool pillows is therefore almost impossible. Molds require not only heat but also high humidity. Because our wool ventilates excellently and regulates its own temperature, a wonderfully cool and dry climate is created. Pure virgin wool is therefore not a favorable environment for dust mites. The lanolin ensures that the wool is self-cleaning, antibacterial, and dirt-repellent. Equally important, lanolin prevents the wool from becoming dry and 'prickly'.
Determine the height and firmness of your pillow yourself!
Because this pillow has a zipper, you can always easily adjust the thickness and firmness of the pillow yourself. This makes the pillow also suitable for stomach sleepers. The firmness, or height, of this wonderful pillow can be easily adjusted by removing some filling or adding more. Loose bags of VulWol pillow filling can be ordered at an extra discount.
Our advice: Always choose a pillow with a zipper, so you don't make a wrong purchase. Invest in a good night's sleep. A good pillow like this is part of that.

Tencel, the most sustainable pillow - FSC and Oeko-Tex Certified
Tencel is a 100% natural material and is fully biodegradable. The raw material for this material is wood, sourced from sustainably managed plantations. It has received the European quality mark PEFC and the international mark FSC. Tencel has received numerous awards for its environmentally friendly production process.
The Tencel Exclusive wool pillow also features the Oeko-Tex label, originally a German organization with a strict policy against harmful substances in textiles. Oeko-tex was founded in 1992 to combat the use of harmful chemicals in textiles and clothing. Products manufactured according to the Oeko-Tex standard are also strictly controlled.
Tencel, the story...
Tencel is as soft as silk, as strong as polyester, as easy to care for as acrylic, as cool and pleasant as linen, as warm as wool, and much better at absorbing moisture than cotton. Simply a breakthrough in fibers! The new generation, with a brilliant future....
Tencel is a 100% natural material and is fully biodegradable. The raw material for this material is wood, sourced from sustainably managed plantations. It has received the European quality mark PEFC and the international mark FSC. Tencel has received numerous awards for its environmentally friendly production process.
Tencel is highly functional. Excellent moisture permeability is one of the basic properties of this material. After extensive research, it has become clear that 85% of people with sensitive skin prefer Tencel over other materials. Bacteria do not stand a chance in Tencel material, and dust mites disappear within 6 weeks. No chemicals are used in Tencel material, an important factor for sensitive skin. Tencel can first absorb moisture and then distribute it over the surface, ensuring your sleep environment is always pleasantly dry.
Tencel, the secret?
Tencel is the first cellulose fiber to derive its immense strength from nanotechnology. As a result of the concentrated and regular structure of the non-fibers, new functional properties can be added to Tencel. These guarantee excellent moisture absorption combined with optimal moisture management. During sleep, our body releases at least 0.4 liters of perspiration, but Tencel's exceptionally good moisture absorption ensures that the pillow remains pleasantly dry, thus promoting restful sleep. To clarify, Tencel absorbs over 50% more moisture than cotton. This is in contrast to polyester, which absorbs no moisture at all.
Lyocell (Tencel) is an artificial fiber of natural origin. The raw material for this fiber is wood pulp, similar to viscose rayon, and it is also spun using the wet spinning process. The key difference lies in the dissolution of the wood fibers. For viscose rayon, this is not an environmentally friendly process. Sodium hydroxide, carbon disulfide, and sulfuric acid are used, producing harmful by-products. Carbon disulfide is harmful to health and highly flammable.
These disadvantages have been overcome with lyocell by using a new solvent (N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide) and by modifying the process to create a closed loop where the solvent is recovered. The properties of the fiber generally correspond to those of viscose, but its strength in a wet state is better, and the fiber wrinkles less. Lyocell is marketed under the brand name Tencel by the Austrian company Lenzing.
