Welcome our Sleep Buddy. It is a known fact that many people sleep on their side. They tend to roll forward because the upper arm cannot float in the air and seeks support on the mattress. This creates a position somewhere between side sleeping and stomach sleeping, the 3/4 position. In this position, the upper shoulder hangs forward, causing a slight strain in the area between the shoulder blades and in the neck. Precisely the area that is already strained by incorrect working postures (working with shoulders forward). This way, the connective tissue cannot recover sufficiently at night.

Sleep Buddy, the solution!

This problem can easily be solved by using a sleep buddy. The sleep buddy is the Dutch version of the Indonesian Goeling. The tension in the shoulders, between the shoulder blades, and in the neck decreases, and the affected tissues can recover maximally. The sleep buddy is a long pillow with a comfortable feel, filled with wonderfully soft and resilient sleep balls. The sleep buddy can be placed between the knees (and lower legs) as well as between the arms.

A sleep buddy not only prevents the torso from tilting forward but also prevents the knees from sliding apart. Without a sleep buddy, one cannot actually keep the knees together for extended periods. This causes irritation between the knees. The result is that one leg is placed over the other, creating tension in the lower intervertebral discs. A sleep buddy can therefore also be effective for lower back pain. Especially when people get up with pain and a stiff back, it is an indication that the sleeping position is not correct.

The dimensions of the sleep buddy are 110 x 15 x 15 cm. Over 1 meter long and 15 cm in diameter. Research among our customers has shown that this is the perfect size for this special pillow. The Sleep Buddy has a fixed 100% white cotton cover and is filled with either a synthetic filling (soft RPET sleep balls) or wonderfully soft wool balls.

• Synthetic sleep balls - This filling is made from ethically recovered plastic from PET bottles, collected by the Plastic Bank and recycled into resilient fiber balls.
• 100% wool balls - The advantage of the wool filling over the synthetic filling is that the wool ventilates much better. Especially when you use the pillow close to your body, this is a nice advantage over the synthetic variant.

The sleep buddy has a short zipper on the side, allowing you to easily add filling if you want to top up or replace the filling over time. The sleep buddy with synthetic filling can be easily washed at up to 60°C and can also be put in the dryer, which is very convenient. The sleep buddy with wool filling must be emptied first. Then you can wash the fixed cover. The wool filling cannot be washed, of course.

Cotton pillowcase

Using a cotton pillowcase is highly recommended. Of course, for hygienic reasons, but using a (cotton) pillowcase also significantly extends the lifespan of the Sleep Buddy pillow.
