In close collaboration with Wol Fabryk Fryslân in Bitgummole, we give discarded wool duvets a valuable second life. At our own production facility in Friesland, these duvets are carefully processed and 100% recycled into this high-quality weed control fabric. Sheep wool is the perfect, natural material for your garden. Using a wool ground cover offers countless advantages over regular anti-weed fabric for growing vegetables, fruit, herbs, and ornamental plants:
Effective weed suppression: The dense anti-weed fabric blocks sunlight and prevents weed seeds from germinating. This saves you tons of time weeding.
Moisture regulation: While plastic ground cover often seals off the soil, our wool anti-weed fabric is water- and air-permeable. The fabric retains rainwater excellently and prevents the soil from drying out during dry periods. Natural soil nutrition: Our wool ground cover acts as a slow-release, circular fertilizer. Dutch sheep wool naturally contains approx. 12% nitrogen, 4% potassium, and 5% sulfur, which is released to your plants over a period of 9 months. Slug repellent: Slugs avoid the fibrous, rough texture of our sheep wool weed control fabric. This allows you to protect your crops against slug damage in a 100% animal-friendly and natural way. 100% Biodegradable: Our weed control fabric is completely free of plastic and microplastics. When incorporated into the soil, the ground cover composts after approximately 6 months. As a mulch layer on top of the soil, the ground cover lasts even longer.
Applications of the Wool Anti-Weed Fabric
Whether you manage a large vegetable garden or want to keep borders neat and weed-free: this sheep wool ground cover is very easy to use.
In the (vegetable) garden: Simply cut the anti-weed fabric to size and lay it directly on the soil. Cut crosses in the ground cover at the exact spots where you want to plant your crops.
For the border (Border Band): Place strips of the ground cover along the edges of your borders or around ornamental plants for a weed-free result.
Around trees and shrubs (Shrub Garden Mat): Ideal as a biodegradable tree ring. Place the round weed control fabric around the trunk to prevent weeds, or wrap the wool around the trunk to protect against severe frost. In pots and planters: A piece of ground cover on the potting soil inhibits weed growth and prevents rapid drying out, while a piece of weed control fabric at the bottom of the pot ensures excellent drainage.

Step 2 - When you’re ready to finalize your purchase, click the shopping cart button in the top-right corner and then select 'Checkout.' Fill in the order form completely (if you are already logged in, this is not necessary). Then choose your preferred payment method. Each payment option comes with a brief explanation. If you prefer to pay later, select 'Bank Transfer' or 'Riverty' (to pay after receiving your order). You can also pick up your order in person and pay in our showroom by selecting 'Pickup by Appointment.'
Step 3 - Carefully check all your entries at each step and submit the form at the last step by clicking the 'Confirm' button. Before completing the order, you must accept our Terms and Conditions by clicking the acceptance button. By doing so, you agree that our Terms and Conditions are binding. After confirming, you will automatically be directed to a confirmation page with all order details (you will also receive this order confirmation via email). Afterwards, you will receive two more emails: the first contains the invoice, which also serves as your warranty, please keep it safe! The second email contains the shipping confirmation, including a Track & Trace code so you can easily follow your shipment.
