Savanne Nova Scotia 100% goose down winter duvet (warmth class 1)

The Nova Scotia winter duvet (warmth class 1) from Savanne is filled with 100% pure European goose down of the highest quality. Goose down is the soft, fluffy part that protects the goose from the cold in winter. It also prevents the goose from overheating in summer. The key properties of goose down are its excellent warmth, superior moisture regulation, and the lightness and airiness of the duvet. The Savanne Nova Scotia winter duvet represents the highest standard in 100% goose down winter duvets, developed for those who want to choose the best comfort, quality, and durability without compromise. It rightfully belongs at the top of the down duvet segment.

The duvet is filled with 100% high-quality goose down, selected for its exceptional fill power and purity. This type of down is known for its high insulating value combined with minimal weight. This makes the Savanne Nova Scotia duvet feel incredibly light, airy, and voluminous, while keeping the body optimally warm without feeling stuffy.

Thanks to its excellent heat and moisture regulation, this duvet is suitable for those who value a constant and pleasant sleeping climate, night after night. Perspiration is quickly wicked away and heat is evenly distributed, contributing to deep and undisturbed sleep.

The luxurious, finely woven cotton sateen ticking feels silky smooth and supple, conforming perfectly to the body. This ticking also features the Nomite® label, meaning house dust mites cannot penetrate the duvet. Ideal for people with a house dust mite allergy.

Winter duvet
The Nova Scotia winter duvet is cassette stitched (with raised baffles) to prevent cold bridges. If your bedroom temperature remains relatively cool and consistent year-round, it might be better to use a spring/autumn duvet year-round. If temperatures rise significantly in the summer months, a light and cool summer duvet (carre stitched, warmth class 4) is recommended. If you want to be prepared for the entire year, we recommend the Nova Scotia 4-season duvet. This allows you to purchase both duvet parts at a more advantageous price.

Certifications
The Nova Scotia goose down duvet guarantees excellent heat and moisture regulation and feels wonderfully soft and supple thanks to the luxurious cotton sateen ticking (NM 150). This ticking/fabric does not crackle at all and is equipped with the Nomite® label. Down duvets with the Nomite® label have a very tightly woven exterior that prevents house dust mites from entering.

The Nova Scotia duvet also features the Downafresh® hygiene label, guaranteeing that the down has been carefully cleaned and dried. Additionally, this duvet has the DOWNPASS certification. The DOWNPASS indicates that the down and feathers from waterfowl (ducks and geese) used as filling material in duvets and pillows are obtained ethically and undergo strict quality control.

The Nova Scotia duvet also has the Oeko-Tex certificate. Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is a testing and certification system for textiles. The standard focuses on limiting the use of harmful substances in relation to the health of the end-user. Although the label focuses on the health aspects of the textile product, the guidelines for the use of harmful substances also overlap with the ecological dimension of sustainability.

Goose down versus Duck down

Goose down clusters are larger than duck down clusters, resulting in better fill power for goose down. This allows a goose down duvet to be filled with less weight than a duck down duvet while maintaining the same warmth class. This fill power ensures a super light, soft, and voluminous duvet. The higher the fill percentage, the lighter, softer, and more supple the duvet. The Nova Scotia duvet, filled with 100% Goose Down, is therefore the lightest, softest, and most supple down duvet in our range and certainly ranks among the best in the down duvet segment.

Origin
The Savanne Nova Scotia duvet is produced by reputable manufacturers in Europe, making it a true quality product! All down and feathers used are sourced from slaughterhouses. This means the down and feathers come from ducks and geese raised for consumption, which are then processed, and only after that are their down and feathers removed. Down and feathers are not the primary product of ducks or geese; the meat is.

Since May 2000, European legislation prohibits live plucking. Weids Wonen & Slapen fully supports this legislation and is committed to ensuring strict international compliance. Weids Wonen & Slapen knows its suppliers and regulates the supply chains of the raw materials provided to us. This means that Weids Wonen & Slapen informs its suppliers that live plucking is unacceptable, that the origin of the raw materials must be stated, and that raw materials from suspicious countries and sources will not be accepted.

Order extra affordably!

This wonderfully full down pillow, the Suverein from Savanne, is generously filled with approximately 1200 grams of duck down (15%) and duck feathers. Thanks to this fine mix, it's a full and plumpable pillow that provides good support for your head and neck.

Sleeping on a down pillow is like resting your head on clouds. You can sink your head into it. Down has been used as a filling for pillows and duvets for decades. Thanks to the natural curl of the duck feathers, this Suverein pillow has good resilience. The duck down ensures this pillow feels wonderfully voluminous and soft.

Anti-allergenic and dust mite-free

The Suverein down pillow is highly suitable for people with a house dust mite allergy. Because down ventilates well, it creates an unfavorable living environment for house dust mites (they thrive in humid conditions). The Suverein pillow is washable up to 60°C, which is more than sufficient to be 100% anti-allergenic! To restore the volume to your down pillow, it's best to put it in the dryer for a while.
