The Savanne Nova Scotia duvet is filled with 100% pure European goose down of the highest quality. Goose down is the soft, fluffy part that protects the goose from the cold in winter. At the same time, this down prevents the goose from getting too hot in the summer. The strong properties of goose down are its perfect warmth, excellent moisture regulation, and the lightness and airiness of the duvet. Goose down versus Duck down
Goose down clusters are larger than duck down clusters. Therefore, the filling power of goose down is better than duck down. This allows agoose down duvetin the same warmth class to be filled with less weight than a duck down duvet. This filling power guarantees a super light, supple, and voluminous duvet. The higher the filling percentage, the lighter, softer, and more supple the duvet is. The Nova Scotia duvet, filled with 100% goose down, is therefore the lightest, softest, and most supple down duvet in our range and certainly belongs to the top of the down duvet segment.

Summer duvet
The Nova Scotia summer duvet is a nice thin and cool summer part (quilted squares, warmth class 4). If your house is well insulated and the bedroom temperature remains reasonably constant year-round, you could also sleep under this duvet all year round.

The summer duvet is a so-called multi-choice duvet. This means it can optionally be combined with a warmer spring/autumn part (warmth class 3). This is also available separately. The spring/autumn duvet is cassette-stitched (with raised baffles) to prevent cold bridges. During cold winters, you can easily connect these two parts by tying them together with ties. This creates a wonderfully warm winter duvet (warmth class 1).

The Nova Scotia goose down duvet guarantees excellent heat and moisture regulation and feels wonderfully soft and supple thanks to the luxurious cotton satin cover (NM 150). This cover/fabric does not rustle at all and is equipped with the Nomite® label. Down duvets with the Nomite® label have a very tightly woven exterior that prevents dust mites from penetrating.

The Nova Scotia duvet also features the Downafresh® hygiene label. This guarantees that the down has been carefully cleaned and dried. Additionally, this duvet also has the DOWNPASS quality mark. The DOWNPASS certifies that the down and feathers from waterfowl (ducks and geese) used as filling material in duvets and pillows are obtained in an ethically responsible manner and are also subjected to strict quality control.

The Nova Scotia duvet also has the Oeko-Tex certificate. Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is a testing and certification system for textiles. The standard focuses on limiting the use of harmful substances in relation to the health of the end-user. Although the label is thus focused on the health aspects of the textile product, the guidelines for the use of harmful substances also overlap with the ecological dimension of sustainability.

The Savanne Nova Scotia duvet is produced by renowned manufacturers in Europe. A true quality product! All down and feathers used are sourced from slaughterhouses. This means that this down and feathers come from ducks and geese that are raised for consumption, then slaughtered, and only then are they stripped of their down and feathers. Down and feathers are not the primary product of the duck or goose; it is the meat that is the focus.

Since May 2000, European legislation prohibits live plucking.
