Cold foam mattress
If you order a mattress together with this bed, we can offer it to you at an extra discount. We recommend the cold foam mattress HR45. This mattress has a luxurious double-sided, removable cover, quilted with 300 grams of hollow fiber per m2. This filling ensures even better heat and moisture regulation and extra comfort. The cover is also washable at 40 degrees, which is very practical. Of course, the cold foam mattress is CFC-free. The mattress is approx. 17 cm thick and suitable for all well-ventilated flat/adjustable or electric bed bases.
Cold foam or HR foam, like polyether and memory foam, is a polyurethane foam. The structure of a cold foam mattress is more open than that of a polyether mattress. An open-cell structure ensures that a mattress ventilates well and therefore stays dry. This is important because it keeps mold and dust mites at bay (they thrive in a humid and warm climate).
A cold foam mattress is also very resilient. The specific gravity of a cold foam mattress is indicated by HR. HR stands for 'high resilience'. The higher the number, the better the point elasticity, resilience, and durability. Point elasticity is the ability to press in a part of the mattress without a large area of the mattress springing down. The more point-elastic a material is, the better it can conform to the contours of the body and the more precise the support is.
Cold foam mattresses have a long lifespan. Due to the high resilience, sagging of a cold foam mattress hardly occurs, and the lifespan is therefore much longer than that of a polyether mattress. The average lifespan of a cold foam mattress is approx. 12 to 15 years.
